Today on IG a shared a corner of my dining room. It is one of my favorite spaces in my home because it showcases the beautiful Hoosier cabinet that was gifted to me by my husband's late grandmother. After spending several decades in the family barn, it was in rough shape when I got it. But after several weekends of hard work (and tons of sanding!) this beauty was ready to shine again. I spent a lot of time debating whether or not I should paint it, and am glad I ultimately chose to keep it as is, and give it a good coat of Annie Sloan clear wax to give it a richer tone. I love styling this piece with bright white pieces to showcase the weathered wood and aged metal countertop.
And here is a closer look at the styled cabinet. I just love the charm of the chicken wire doors :)
What I love most about my home is that the majority of our furniture was passed down to us from family. It makes my heart happy to mix these treasures with new pieces and really make the space ours.
