One of the pieces that gets frequent restyled in my home is my antique Hoosier Cabinet. It was passed down to us by my husband's grandmother, and I spent months restoring it to its current state. It is a prominent display area in my dining room, and with our open floor plan, is visible from nearly all of our living spaces. I try to keep it neutral with the white dishes we have for daily use, so that I can switch things up on a regular basis, while still maintaining the cabinet's function (which, of course, is to store said white dishes.) When the new wood and marble cutting boards arrived in our shop, I couldn't resist adding them to the cabinet. The crisp white marble adds such a gorgeous contrast to the warm weathered wood and aged metal countertop.
We frequently entertain, so having serving pieces readily available is a necessity. I cant wait for our next gathering, so I can put these new pieces to good use! They are both stylish AND functional, and would make great housewarming or hostess gifts.
